How do I apply for a Habitat House?
Complete an application here or visit our ReSaleStore at 478 S. Capitol Avenue, Corydon, Indiana during store hours.
Are Habitat Homes free to qualified partners?
No, they are not. Qualified Partners must provide “sweat equity” hours during construction of their homes. They will repay the cost of their home through an interest free mortgage over 20 to 25 years, or until the full mortgage amount is paid.
Do I need to have perfect credit?
Not necessarily. Habitat requires a credit history that indicates the willingness and ability to repay the cost of the home. We review each situation individually at the time of application.
Are there household income requirements for buying a home?
Yes, there are household income requirements. Habitat requires that household income meet certain guidelines based on the size of the family buying the house. Income may consist of earned income, disability income, or other income which can be confirmed as part of underwriting.
How can I volunteer to help Habitat for Humanity?
Habitat can use volunteers in many areas. Visit the Volunteer section of our website to review these needs. Several hours per week or month will make a huge difference to Habitat and our Partner families.
